OUTLAW COUNTRY MUSIC WITH AN ATTITUDE

Shep and The Even Money Band

The idea for the Even Money Band started in 1981. Dave and Lavoy Shepherd, both successful horse jockeys riding at Portland Meadows, decided it was time to start producing outlaw country music with an attitude. They wanted to create music with a powerful message and soon began writing songs to fill the void. Later they recruited Gary Stevens, another jockey, to play the drums and complete the band.

After a few years of jamming around the coast, the band decided to take a break before Dave Shepherd headed out East to explore new adventures. But the Even Money Band was not done and variations of the trio existed the following decade.

In 2016 with a renewed spirit and passion, Shep enlisted the talents of Steve Short and Dave Copenhaver to record and release the new Lookin for Trouble album. Two years later, Richard Sharp joined the current version of EMB, where they released the Too Country album.

Today, Shep and The Even Money Band is coming out swinging with new music and live events across the United States. We hope to see you on the road!
